Loïc Pritchard, MS, LMFT

Loïc Pritchard | Training and Experience

I am Loïc Pritchard (first name pronounced “low-week”), clinical supervisor and psychotherapist in San Francisco. I am fully licensed with the California Board of Behavioral as an LMFT. This license enables me to provide professional psychotherapy to individual adults, couples, and kids. I meet with clients for therapy and counseling sessions in-person in San Francisco. I am also able to provide virtual counseling via video online for clients located in California. I help adults, couples, and teens. I also sometimes help kids with OCD, including those who are twelve or younger.

In addition to my clinical work with clients, I’m also a lecturer in the Department of Psychology at San Francisco State University for undergraduate students. I have a professional relationship with The San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis, where I serve in a volunteer capacity and occasionally teach student seminars.

I graduated with a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from San Francisco State University. I completed post-graduate training at The Psychotherapy Institute in Berkeley and have also participated in educational programs through The Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles.

I am a member of Gaylesta, The Psychotherapy Association for Gender and Sexual Diversity and The California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT).

My theoretical orientation to psychotherapy is primarily psychodynamic. I also use humanistic, relational and existential approaches. For clients struggling with obsessive compulsive disorder and specific phobias, I provide a behavioral therapy specially developed for treating OCD.

I am certified through The International OCD Foundation to provide Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy to treat OCD and phobias. I have also undergone specialized training and am certified through WPATH to support clients with concerns related to gender-identity.

My Work With Clients

I am a therapist for clients who want help for life’s challenges, treatment of depression and anxiety, help overcoming difficulties in relationships, treatment to resolve OCDs and phobias, help with creativity and creative blocks, and support with gender identity concerns. I see my job as a collaboration with you to find your authentic self, connect more fully with others, and have more peace and fulfillment in your life.

Approximately 2/3rds of my clients are artists and creative people, unconventional people, and people in the LGBTQ community. The other 1/3rd of my clients do not fall into any of these categories, and were drawn to working with me for another reason.

Anyone who is interested in working with me is encouraged to contact me to discuss your goals for therapy. If you have questions that would help you determine if I am the right person to help, I’m happy to have a conversation and answer questions.

You can use my online booking platform to schedule a free 20 minute phone consultation. You can also call me at 415-881-8260, email me, or use the form below to send me a message. I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
